What is TENS Therapy?
TENS therapy uses low-voltage electrical currents to stimulate the nerves in the area where the pain lingers through electrodes placed on the skin. The electrodes are connected to a device that is battery-operated. When turned on, the electrical impulses enter through the skin and stimulate the nerves. This treatment can block pain signals from traveling to the brain, effectively disrupting the connection so that the pain disappears. The electrical stimulation also helps release endorphins, the body’s pain relievers, which also lessens the pain. Common conditions where TENS can alleviate pain include:- Back pain
- Neck pain
- Knee pain
- Sciatica
- Arthritis
- Sports injuries & muscle recovery
