Buffett’s top AI stocks include Apple, Amazon

by / ⠀News / June 26, 2025

Warren Buffett has invested around $90 billion in nine companies that focus heavily on artificial intelligence (AI). These companies include Apple, Amazon, Alphabet (Google’s parent company), Microsoft, International Business Machines (IBM), Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and NXP Semiconductors. Apple is the largest holding in Berkshire Hathaway’s portfolio, valued at nearly $59.3 billion.

The company has been at the forefront of AI development for years and recently launched Apple Intelligence in 2024. Amazon is another top AI stock in Berkshire’s portfolio, with a stake of about $2.1 billion. As the world’s largest cloud services provider, Amazon Web Services (AWS) has benefited greatly from organizations building and deploying AI models in the cloud.

Buffett also owns seven more AI-focused stocks through New England Asset Management (NEAM), a subsidiary of General Reinsurance, which Berkshire Hathaway acquired in 1998.

Buffett’s AI stock investments

These holdings include Alphabet, Microsoft, IBM, Texas Instruments, Nvidia, Qualcomm, and NXP Semiconductors.

Alphabet and Microsoft are major cloud service providers profiting from the strong AI tailwind. IBM has made headlines with its Watson AI technology, while Texas Instruments makes edge AI products and works with other companies to develop power management and sensing technologies for data centers. Nvidia, Qualcomm, and NXP Semiconductors are AI chipmakers that manufacture products supporting AI workloads and systems.

Among these nine AI stocks, Amazon may be the best all-around pick. The company is poised to profit as more organizations move their apps and data to the cloud, and it has significant growth prospects in e-commerce. Amazon is also expanding into new markets, such as healthcare, autonomous ride-hailing, and satellite internet services.
