Movie Battle: The Social Network vs Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps

Everyone remembers the original Wall Street where the infamous Gordon Gekko goes down in history as one of the most ruthless businessmen on Wall Street. Will the 2nd one live up to the first one? The new movie is also timely as we will get to see Gordon Gekko tackle the mortgage collapse and recent economic crisis. Gekko is quoted in the movie speaking to a college crowd “You don’t know it yet, but you’re the NINJA generation—no income, no job, no assets,” he says, using the nickname for the subprime loans that brokers pushed on unemployed homeowners. We don’t know how good it is yet but if your in business your most likely interested in seeing it.

The Social Network is the story behind the start of Facebook (I think you’ve heard of it). It’s supposed to show the truth behind who Mark Zuckerberg really is and what he went through to to make Facebook his own. The movie is apparently a very dark tale of Mark Zuckerberg showing him as insecure, screwing people over and getting rich because of it. This dark theme is probably the reason for Zuckerberg’s recent in depth interview with the New Yorker.  The interview tries to show the real side of him and some things you may not know. While it may stretch the truth the topic alone makes it an intriguing see for everyone in the social world.
