For a long time, American cycling has felt like a sport stuck between eras. The history is there. So is the talent. But the system that once brought it all together has slowly fallen apart. Races that once drew crowds have disappeared. Young riders have limited support. And teams that try to make it work often face short funding cycles and low visibility.
Still, the potential hasn’t gone anywhere. The U.S. continues to produce riders capable of competing at the highest level. What’s been missing is an infrastructure that supports that talent here at home. George Hincapie is setting out to change that.

Modern Adventure Pro Cycling
A veteran of the sport and one of the most respected American riders of his generation, Hincapie is now turning his attention toward team building. His new project, Modern Adventure Pro Cycling, is more than just a team with competitive goals. It’s a long-term effort to reignite interest in the sport, build local talent, and give American cycling a new foundation.
The plan is ambitious, to become a UCI ProTeam by 2026, race the Tour de France by 2032, and resonate with fans across the country. That means focusing on rider development, putting real resources behind domestic racing, and building a culture that values consistency, teamwork, and long-term commitment.

The team will begin racing in international events across Europe and South America. Early races will be used to test strategy, improve logistics, and build chemistry among a roster that blends promising American cyclists with select international riders. At its core, this is a developmental approach, designed to strengthen the team while giving riders the experience they need to succeed at the world level.
Hincapie’s background helps bring weight to the mission. Over the course of his career, he started 17 Tours de France and played key roles in some of the sport’s most iconic wins. But just as important is what he’s done off the bike. Through his work with youth development teams, his Gran Fondo series, and ventures in apparel and event management, he’s gained a full understanding of what it takes to build something sustainable.
Global Connection
Modern Adventure Pro Cycling is launching with the support of brands like Factor Bikes, Black Inc, and SRAM, along with title sponsor Modern Adventure, a travel company that brings a shared passion for global connection and purpose-driven growth. The team’s kits—rich burgundy with clean geometric accents—are designed to reflect those values: refined, intentional, and built for the long term.
In a sport that often rewards quick wins and one-season investments, Hincapie is taking a slower, steadier approach. This is not about recreating old moments or chasing nostalgia. It’s about creating a structure that lasts and giving American riders a chance to grow within a system that is built for them.
Modern Adventure Pro Cycling is still in its early stages, but the vision is clear. Hincapie believes American cycling has more to offer, and he’s betting that with time, focus, and the right partners, the sport can find its place again—not just on the world stage, but in the hearts of fans at home.
