Pursuing Faith Over Comfort: How Casey Barnette Built Eminent Nutrition

by / ⠀Health & Fitness / January 7, 2026

When starting a business, many entrepreneurs plan every step, aiming to follow well-trodden paths to success. This approach, however, was not the case for Casey Barnette, owner and founder of Eminent Nutrition.

For Barnette, entrepreneurship was a calling that drove him to persevere through any obstacles in his way, regardless of how uncomfortable or discouraging they were. His perspective stems from observations he made at 22, when he realized how many people settle into routines they openly resented, despite their advice to “play it safe.” This hypocrisy led Barnette to do the opposite, pursuing business on his own terms.

Eminent Nutrition

A Business Built on Uncertainty

Long before becoming an entrepreneur, Barnette embraced discomfort through competitive bodybuilding, a pursuit that taught him discipline and the understanding that pain often signals transformation. Those lessons would later shape his business mindset.

Barnette launched CaseyTrain, an online coaching community designed to help others develop their health and mindset, in 2018 while also working multiple jobs and completing his bachelor’s degree. Although this project began with passion, it soon grew into a thriving platform supporting hundreds of clients each month. During this period, Barnette identified gaps in transparency and trust within the supplement industry.

To address these and other industry concerns, Barnette launched Eminent Nutrition in April 2021. Despite starting with only two formulas, he remained confident he could see his vision through, even if it meant moving forward without guarantees or safety nets.

Adversity Necessitates Adaptation

Only two months after launching the brand, Barnette faced a life-altering health crisis; the years spent pushing his body as a competitive athlete eventually culminated in liver failure and deep vein thrombosis in both legs, an event that led to a near-death experience in the ICU.

Rather than letting this setback keep him from realizing his vision, Barnette pressed on, recognizing that his loss of identity as a bodybuilder meant he could shift from focusing on personal performance to community transformation.

He now had the means and purpose to support others by helping them become the strongest, healthiest, and most fulfilled versions of themselves. This renewed sense of purpose accelerated growth across all his ventures, enabling Eminent Nutrition to expand into additional verticals focused on coaching, health optimization, and wellness services. Each of these pursuits was unified by the same core values: integrity, faith, and service.

How Action Drives Growth

Barnette’s leadership philosophy emphasizes creating opportunities rather than waiting for them to come to him. He maintains a firm belief that real growth comes from walking through adversity, regardless of what others say or how discouraged he may feel at any given moment.

It is through an unwavering faith in his vision that Barnette can help others improve their minds and bodies, a faith his wife, Lesly, has supported him in pursuing through times of difficulty and success alike. Together, the two embody the belief that success is amplified when both partners are aligned in growth, accountability, and purpose.

Even as Barnette and his business continue to grow, he remains steadfast in his long-term vision and the path he must follow to achieve it. His road prizes neither recognition nor accolades, but instead the opportunity to be remembered for how he made people feel, how he helped others improve, and how he set an example by choosing faith over fear.
