Consider Past Job Experiences

There can be a lot of insight to gain from jobs that you worked in the past. Consider the pros and cons of each job that you had. Then, figure out if there is a job that matches the requirements you are thinking of.

For some additional help consider questioning yourself with:

  • Structure vs Flexibility
  • Team Leader or Team Member
  • Analysis or Creativity
  • Work Schedule and Flexibility
  • Do you want to be an expertise in a previous job
  • Would you rather gain more soft skills and leadership?

What To Do on a Sunday

What do you like to do on a Sunday? Something that you naturally enjoy?

  • Reading books on business
  • Making videos and sharing them online
  • Socializing with friends or family

If a job can have parts of what you like doing, then you can like the job. For instance, if you like to read and write, you could pursue being a screenwriter or an author.

Consider reflecting on what naturally draws to you. Then, add your favorite pastimes and few possible jobs that can be added to your dream job list.

Talk to People You Know

Self-discovery sometimes doesn’t mean that you are the only one working on it. You have life-long experiences with friends, family, colleagues, and more.

Get a good view of yourself by asking people about you. To narrow it down, ask them:

  • Personal strengths and weaknesses
  • What talent you have
  • Which activities makes you happy
  • What career can help you balance your strengths and passions

If you don’t know anyone, reach out to professionals and write a personalized note. From there, they can provide you with answers to your questions.

Know What the Job is

Perhaps the most important rule, whether you love the job or not, it is important to understand what the tasks are of the job. Read carefully what the job entails and what the schedule, training, and everything else is like.

You can’t love a job if there is nothing to love about it. When you find yourself deciding on a job, ask yourself a question. Are you actually not interested or are you fearful that you can’t do the job? Answer that with 100% honesty.

Conclusion
