Are You Ready to #FixYoungAmerica?

by / ⠀Startup Advice / March 6, 2012

Scott Gerber and the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC) have launched a national campaign to #FixYoungAmerica. Under30CEO has been a supporter of the YEC since it started over a year ago. We have seen hundreds of successful young entrepreneurs come together to solve problems and encourage entrepreneurship across America.  Now Scott and the YEC need your help to #FixYoungAmerica!

Our government is broken, youth employment is at a 60-year low, and student loan debt is approaching $1 trillion — and yet only the most negative voices in the room are getting attention. If we genuinely want Millennials — and future generations — to survive and thrive in the new economy, then we need REAL solutions, and we need them now. After working with tens of thousands of young people and dozens of America’s most storied institutions and organizations, the Young Entrepreneur Council has witnessed firsthand some of the programs and policies that get REAL results. Now, the YEC seeks to lead a solutions-based movement to #FixYoungAmerica. And we need your help to do it!

How you can help right now:

1. Contribute: Your tax-deductible contributions to #FixYoungAmerica through will help us put a copy of our book in the hands of every politician, thought leader and decision maker in America, and will fuel our efforts to transform innovative ideas into actionable solutions. YEC and #FixYoungAmerica is a 100% nonprofit effort, and part of your contribution will be donated to programs for young entrepreneurs. If you share our passion for rebuilding America through entrepreneurship, contribute to this campaign today.

2. Pass the baby: Your ideas to #FixYoungAmerica are just as important to this campaign as the ones in our book. Visit our website and click on the Pass the Baby button to share your own idea to reduce youth unemployment and underemployment. Then, share your idea (and our baby mascot) on Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, or your website to show your support.

The campaign has just begun and they have already raised over $20,000 towards their $30,000 goal. Take a minute to check out everything they are doing and what #FixYoungAmerica is all about.
