Looking for Young Talent at Your Startup? Fordham Small Biz Connector

by / ⠀Startup Advice / March 8, 2012

The Office of Career Services, The Entrepreneurship Society, and Dr. Christine Janssen-Selvadurai (Director of the Entrepreneurship Program) at Fordham University, would like to invite you to participate in our first ever Small Biz Connector.

There is a growing population of students at Fordham that is interested in entrepreneurship and eager to gain hands-on experience working at small companies – whether that means a staff of 5 people or 50. They understand that the real opportunities in today’s economy lie with entrepreneurs and innovators, and they are embracing entrepreneurial thought and action. In an effort to simultaneously serve these students as well as local small businesses that are looking for affordable talent, we are coordinating this event to address the immediate needs of both parties.

The goal is to host 30-40 local entrepreneurs, start-ups, and small business owners in the New York City area who are looking for bright undergraduate students for internships, short-term consulting projects, and/or full-time positions. The Small Biz Connector will be held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012 from 4:00-7:00 pm on the Rose Hill campus in the Bronx. Venue TBD.

If you are interested in showcasing your company and meeting with students/prospective hires, please contact Dr. Christine Janssen-Selvadurai at cjanssen@fordham.edu or 718-817-0494. Please indicate how many positions you have available and include the following information for each:

  • Title and brief description of position
  • List of desired skills, knowledge, experience
  • Anticipated start and end dates
  • Expectations and deliverables

After the vetting process, you will be contacted with further details about the event.
