3 Online Resources To Save Your Business Time and Money

by / ⠀Startup Advice / January 13, 2013

One of the most difficult aspects of running an online business is time management.  Perhaps the quickest realization most entrepreneurs come to early on is the harsh realization that the “to do list” of a business seems to grow every five minutes.  Just as one task is completed, along come five more tasks that must be paid attention to.

This makes it critical that business owners seek out help delegating assignments that can be completed by other people.  This will not only save ones sanity, but in the long run, will likely lead to higher profits.  Time is money, and spending a few dollars to hire a little outside help can go a long way towards increasing productivity.

The following websites are three great resources that should be use in order to help your online business thrive:

1.  Fiverr

Fiverr is one of the more useful sites to be found on the Internet.  The premise is rather simple.  Thousands of people offer to complete tasks for the price of five dollars.

While there are many aspects to this site that are non-business related, there is an entire section devoted to advertising, social media, marketing, and many other essential aspects of an online business.  Browse around and you will be amazed at how much help you can find for a few dollars.  I have had people design book covers, logos, and even help design web pages for five dollars, while competing businesses were offering the same work at exponentially higher prices.  Sure the quality does vary from person to person, so be sure to check reviews thoroughly, but browse around, and you will truly find some hidden gems.

One of the most popular services is Fiverr logo design. Instead of investing hundreds of dollars on an expensive logo for your business, you can get one made for very little, and the results are completely professional.

2.  ODesk

ODesk is a website devoted to freelancers who are willing to help clients in various aspects of business.  You can find everything from web developers to personal assistants to search engine optimization companies.

The key to finding success with ODesk is performing a lot of research.  Be sure to read up on reviews and only hire those who have a lot of experience.  Hiring the wrong person can be risky and dangerous, as many of the employees you will find here live overseas.  However, if used properly, ODesk is without a doubt one of the more valuable resources on the Internet.

3.  LinkedIn

Sometimes people underestimate just how useful LinkedIn can be for building connections and helping a business to grow.  With literally millions of professionals signed up, there are endless amounts of opportunities to be found.

In fact, two of my biggest breaks came from the relationships that I developed with strangers on LinkedIn.  Sometimes just by meeting the right people, good things will unexpectedly happen.  So get out there, talk to some fellow professionals, and help make your own luck.
