In the last couple of years, the whole world has had to deal with global issues such as war, inflation, and the lingering effects of the covid pandemic. But, it is the main factor of inflation that has assisted the food industry and boosted it to new heights. In fact, the 25 top food companies in the industry created almost $2 trillion in revenue. Meanwhile, profits increased to nearly $160 billion. So, let’s discuss food brands whose sales boomed in 2022.

In 2022, the largest and most successful of the food businesses was Nestlé with over $90 billion in sales. This is because they have many frozen products such as:

  • Hot Pockets
  • Stouffer’s
  • DiGiorno

Many people have stayed home, and thus are more inclined to buy frozen meals to cook at home. Nestlé also has business with both water and coffee, thus, giving them more profit in the beverage industry. Nestlé has most of its sales in the U.S. and the Swiss-based business has almost 70 factories in the states. Their profits last year increased by 3%, giving them $49 billion in profit.

Forbes has the Forbes Global 2000 List, a list that takes the world’s influential public companies and calculates their ranking based on things like market value, assets, and more. Likewise, Nestlé is ranked No. 46. They have fallen from their previous rank of No. 39.
